    Come join us at the University of Portland for the 2018 PNW FRC kickoff, PowerUp!
     
    Event Details
    Location: University of Portland – 5000 N Willamette Blvd, Portland, OR 97203
    When: January 6th, 2018 at 7AM

    Doors open for team registration at 6:30AM following opening ceremonies at 7AM. There will be a scavenger hunt, a mock competition field, a virtual field to test robots in Synthesis, and of course the 2018 game reveal. 
    Can’t Make it in Person?
    Don’t worry, we have got you covered. Just be sure to watch the live feed here and you will be able to follow along the same broadcast.

    Congratulations to Team 2550 for winning the Autodesk Code Sprint Challenge!



    Autodesk hosted a Code Sprint challenge for students to contribute code in 20 days to create the best addition to their robotics simulator, Synthesis. Synthesis is a robotics simulator built by a group of 15 high school interns that is made for other FRC high school students to design, test, and experiment with their robots before actually building it. This provides FRC students more time to test code, practice driving, and develop strategies within the six-week build season. 

    A Perspective From Skynet Programmers

    When
    the challenge started on August 1st, two main programmers, Nathan Walker and Brayton Kerekffy immediately got to work. “After
    20 days of hard work, Nathan and I submitted our addition and waited for
    the results to come.” – Kerekffy The first place team of the Code Sprint challenge
    would receive $1500 in FIRST grants. About a week ago, it was announced that our submission would be awarded with the grand prize of $1500.

    Neighborhood Yard Sale Fundraiser

    Come on down to our Neighborhood Sale fundraiser Friday August 11th and Saturday August 12th! Get a chance to drive our competition robots and support your local robotics team.

    We have game consoles, video games, computers, board games, books, tech toys, Legos, and more! Sale starts at 9:00 AM and goes through 4:00 PM. If you are unable to make it, you can still donate to us using PayPal by clicking the image below.

    We are participating in the McLoughlin Neighborhood sale this weekend!  A fundraiser and outreach event for our team.

    We still need your donations!  Our theme is Electronics, Toys, Gadgets, and Tools.  No household items or clothing please.

    You can drop off your donations at the school at 12th and Jackson, (Entrance on Jackson) the following times:

    Skynet is a finalist in the Best
    of Oregon City™ People’s Choice Awards! Over 3,000 ballots were
    submitted during the month of April. There were 694 unique nominees for
    62 different awards. We will be honored as a finalist for the Mover & Shaker Jr award at the first ever Best of Oregon City red carpet award ceremony on June 22.  Please come out and celebrate with us!  See all finalists and information on purchasing tickets on the Best of Oregon City website.
